The Wright Brothers Maple (Acer saccharum ‘Wright Brothers’) is a medium- to large-sized fast-growing shade tree. It has a more conical, rounded growth habit then most other sugar maple cultivars and is known for its resistance to leaf scorch and frost cracking of the trunk. It also has an impressive foliage display: a lighter green in the spring and summer then turning a dashing red-orange in the fall.

\nThe Wright Brothers Maple was introduced in central Ohio in 1980. Its average texture makes it a good tree to use to blend into the landscape or accompany a more captivating tree. This tree’s low-maintenance nature and nicely branched structure make it appealing to any yard owner who wants a burst of color in the fall and some shade in the summer months. It can grow in partial or full sun with a preference to full sun and prefers average to moist conditions.
