The Vanderwolf Pyramid Limber Pine (Pinus flexilis ‘Vanderwolf Pyramid’) is a small- to medium-sized ornamental evergreen tree. It has an upright and pyramidal form and a dense branching habit. Its green-blue evergreen foliage are long needles that are closely spaced on the branches and have a distinctive habit of twisting. Its bark is gray and smooth, matching the elegance of the rest of the tree.

The Vanderwolf Pyramid Limber Pine was selected in the mid 1960s as a seedling growing in the wild. It was selected by Rein Vanderwolf of Vermeulen & Son Nursery in New Jersey and introduced into the trade by that same nursery in 1972. This tree is known for being very resilient and is often used for the windbreaks and shelterbelts that separate farm fields in the Midwest. It also makes a great specimen tree standing on its own in yards and parks. Tolerates drier semi desert soils as well as thin rocky soils in the mountain foothills regions in the west. Does best in full sun and can grow in most soils types that are well-draining.
