The Three-Flowered Maple (Acer triflorum) is a small- to medium-sized highly valued tree known for its ornamental value. In the fall, the clean green trifoliate leaves warm up into a sensational fiery orange or orange-yellow. The bark is als a sight to behold and can spruce up any bleak landscape in the winter months. It has light brown exfoliating bark that peels back in thick, vertical strips to reveal darker copper brown wood beneath. \n \nThe Three-Flowered Maple is a native tree of Northern China and Korea. It can take on different forms depending on the conditions it is grown in. In full sun, it tends to be more rounded with dense branching habits. In part sun or shade, it grows more upright with spreading branches. It can grow in a variety of soil types but prefers moist, well-drained soils and is not very tolerant of drought.
