Its bold, scarlet bark also can be a sight to behold in the bleak winter months.  \n \nThe Tamukeyama Japanese Maple is an ancient cultivar that was started by Kobayashi Nursery in Japan and has been grown for over 300 years! A great option in a small garden, this tree is very hardy and can tolerate hot and cold conditions but is best suited under some shade, especially in hot climates. Prefers well-drained soils.
