The Norwegian Sunset® Maple (Acer truncatum x platanoides ‘Keithsform’) is a medium-sized, fast-growing  tree that has pleasant form and tasteful fall foliage. It stands upright and uniformly ovate with a somewhat dense branching system that is capable of providing adequate shade. In the spring, lemon yellow leaves emerge from its branches before turning dark green as spring turns into summer and splendid orange as summer turns to fall.

The Norwegian Sunset® Maple is a Shantung Maple (Acer truncatum) and Norway Maple (Acer platanoides) hybrid developed by Keith Warren of J. Frank Schmidt & Sons Co. in Boring, Oregon and was introduced in 1989. It has the growth rate, branch structure, and leaf shape of a Norway Maple and the glossy foliage and heat resistance of a Shantung Maple. It is a great choice as a yard tree of any size due to its tasteful form, great fall foliage, ability to provide shade, and low-maintenance features. It does well in full and sun and does not have a soil preference.
