The Heritage® Oak (Quercus x macdanielii ‘Clemons’) is a large-sized shade tree. It has a well-balanced form with a uniform canopy and broad, pyramidal to oval shape. Very mature trees will have very large branches coming off the main trunk. Its foliage is shallowly lobed and mystically dark green with silvery undersides. The leaves are also tatter resistant and turn yellow to yellow-brown in the fall. This tree produces acorns that attract and support small mammals and wildlife. A faster, more vigorous grower than most oaks.

The Heritage® Oak is a hybrid between an English Oak and Bur Oak. It gets its exceptional height from the English Oak, while its broad crown has the Bur Oak to thank. It also is resistant to mildew along with most other diseases and is wind tolerant. This tree is a great option as a shade tree for the yard. It can be quite the specimen with its thick branches, broad-spreading and handsome foliage. Even when the leaves drop in the winter, its pleasant form still gives it interest. It does best in full sun and is adaptable to most soil types.
