The Golden Colonnade® Ginkgo (Ginkgo biloba ‘JFS-UGA2’) is a medium-sized, columnar fall color tree. It has a very narrow, open, oval form with upright branches and a strong central leader. It has interesting fan-shaped foliage distinctive of the Ginkgo species. This bright green foliage turns a stunning bright yellow in the fall. This tree is a male cultivar and does not bear any fruit, making it a tidier and easier to maintain tree than the species. \n \nThe Golden Colonnade® Ginkgo was discovered at J. Frank Schmidt & Sons Co. by Dr. Michael Dirr. It is renowned for its very narrow form and is a fantastic option for a street tree on normal streets or more narrow streets due to its form and tolerance to urban pollution. Its foliage also lights up the streets in the fall with its exceptionally bright color. Also can be used as a yard tree close to structures or houses. It does best in full to partial sun and does not have a preference to soil type.
