The Baby Blue Eyes Colorado Spruce (Picea pungens ‘Baby Blue Eyes’) is a small-sized evergreen ornamental tree. It has a nice pyramidal form with a dense branching pattern that spreads a bit with age and needles that are close together on the branch. The needles are a handsome and silvery blue-green and hold their color well throughout the year.

The Baby Blue Eyes Colorado Spruce was selected as a seedling in a group of grafted Moerheim Colorado Spruce (Picea pungens 'Moerheimi') by Verl Holden in his Silverton, Oregon nursery. It was patented in 1987. This cultivar is unique in its smaller size, densely growing needles, and pretty foliage color. It is a great option for gardens, small landscapes, or confined spaces. It can also be planted in groups as a shorter screen. It does best in full sun and well-drained soils.
