The American Dream® Oak (Quercus bicolor ‘JFS-KW12’ PP 23632) is a medium- to large-sized shade tree. It has a dense branching habit and a nice broad, pyramidal canopy that maintains its shape into maturity. Its foliage emerges light green in the spring and matures to dark green with lighter, silver undersides. In the fall, the glossy leaves turn attractive shades of yellow and orange for a nice autumn display.

The American Dream® Oak was introduced by J. Frank Schmidt & Sons Co.. This cultivar is unique in its resistance to anthracnose and powdery mildew and its pyramidal, dense form. This tree is aesthetically versatile and can go anywhere in the yard while providing very adequate shade and beautiful fall color. It is also adaptable to many growing conditions and does great as an urban tree in a park or on a street as long as it has at least 20’ for its branches to spread. Does best in full sun and can grow in a wide range of soil types but prefers moist and acidic soils.
