The Rugged Ridge® Maple (Acer miyabei 'JFS-KW3AMI') lives up its name well with its very deeply furrowed and corky bark. Developed by J. Frank Schmidt Nurseries, this fast-growing tree has a noticeable upright, oval shape to it. It is extremely adaptable to both sun exposure and soil types, making it a great tree for urban environments or a good option for a yard tree that will not need much care. The Rugged Ridge® Maple has a nice yellow display of leaves in the fall, but it is a real eye-catcher in the winter with its magnificently unique bark.
