The Little Twist® Flowering Cherry (Prunus incisa ‘CarltonLT’ Little Twist®) is a small-sized flowering ornamental tree. This is truly a stunning tree for the garden. In the spring, clusters of delicate white flowers with soft pink centers emerge and continue to turn darker as they age and fall off the tree.

Following the bloom is the coming on of the coppery-bronze leaves that mature to a nice green throughout the summer before turning burgundy to maroon in the fall. The foliage makes up a naturally rounded crown with zig zagging or “twisting” branches and twigs. The unique branching pattern and fantastic display of dark reddish-brown, peeling bark on the main trunk of the tree also make it a great sight in the winter landscape.

The Little Twist® Flowering Cherry is a dwarf cultivar of the Fuji Cherry tree which originated on the slopes of Mt. Fuji in Japan. The species has been cultivated since 1910. Our Little Twist Cherry is unique in that its main middle trunk is a Paperbark Cherry which gives it its highly ornamental peeling bark. This tree is a fantastic option for a small garden that needs a bigger accent piece or can do great near patios or in courtyards growing in the ground or in planters. This tree is sure to amaze with its compact size and excellent spring profusion of delicate blossoms. It does best in full sun and prefers well-drained soils with average moisture.
